

Tap
Enjoy one of the most fun and high-energy forms of dance! Learn coordination and rhythm while enjoying a challenging and engaging workout. Those just beginning in tap will work on the basics of tap technique and the continuing level will learn more complex rhythms and steps.
Jazz
Class curriculum is based on ballet technique layered with traditional jazz movement and includes a proper warm-up, stretches, across-the-floor progressions, and combinations. As students progress through each level, curriculum will become increasingly more complex and intricate.
Ballet
Ballet is considered the foundation of dance. Our instructors teach proper placement, alignment, balance, technique and control. These elements will be used in all forms of dance. Our students focus on improving strength, control, as well as body positioning in barre and center work. The students also learn the vocabulary and terminology of Ballet.
Tumbling
Tumbling is for those wanting to learn gymnastics tricks for dances or cheerleading. Only floor tumbling is taught. Beginners will work on the basic fundamentals starting with frontrolls, cartwheels, backrolls, backbends and front limbers. The continuing level will advance their skill by working on walkovers, front handsprings and back handsprings.
Baton Twirling
Baton Twirling is a fun and exciting art form. Beginning students will work on the fundamentals of twirling and those continuing will work on advancing their skills and move to multiple batons. We teach dance along with the twirling and as a result we teach what is called Dance Twirl. Dance Twirl is continuous footwork with baton work. This is very good for the coordination of the entire body.
Combo Class
Combo Classes are for the 2 1/2-5 year olds. Tap, Ballet, and Baton Twirling will be taught. This will give them a taste of the main subjects so when they are old enough to go into the Show Teams they will know which subjects they like best.
Lyrical/Contemporary
Lyrical class is a cross of ballet and jazz dance. The choreography is more fluid, often using emotion to motivate the movement. The class emphasizes artistry and musicality. Some prior training in ballet and jazz is needed.
Pointe
Pointe is offered to those students who have mastered the knowledge and technique of ballet and are ready for the next level. Strength and control are extremely important in this dance form. Instructor approval is necessary.
Musical Theatre
Musical Theatre, Mini Glee & Glee classes will work on singing and movement Broadway style! Each member of the class will work on songs in groups and sometimes as solos. Choreography will be taught to complement the songs.
Drill Team Prep
Drill Team Prep is a fun class for girls of middle to high school age. The class starts with stretching for flexibility for kicks and splits. Students will learn proper kick technique and dance jazz technique. They will learn different choreography and/or combinations week to week.
*Our Leaps, Turns & Tricks class would be a great compliment to this class!
Show Teams
Classes are for those who want to compete and have the performance opportunity for a variety of shows throughout the year. We have several levels of Show Teams. These classes are for students ages 5 and up with dance experience. Instructors will place the students into the correct level of Show Team.
CK Competition Team
Classes are strictly for those dancers who have a passion for dance and want to take it to the next level! Dancers perform in a variety of shows throughout the year as well as compete with their dances in the Spring/Summer. The staff places higher expectations on the Competition Dancers in and out of the studio. There are mandatory classes that the competition team members must take year-round including the summer. Instructor placement only. Contract must be signed.
Rockwall Ballet Company
The Ballet Company is reserved for those that show a desire to further their ballet training. Dancers perform at several Ballet Festivals in and around the Dallas Area. The staff places a higher expectation on the dancers in the Ballet Company. All Company Dancers will take class a minimum of 2 times a week in addition to weekly rehearsals on Sunday afternoons/evenings. Additional intensives and rehearsals will be required.
Age and level are for guidelines only. All students will be evaluated by our teachers to ensure proper placement.
